El Día del libro es una celebración mundial por la cultura, las letras y ¡el papel! Porque aunque cada día se venden más libros electrónicos, el papel seguirá siendo protagonista (de la misma manera que la televisión no logró acabar con la radio)

Además, en la ciudad de Barcelona, es un día especial. Sant Jordi es el patrón de la ciudad; y coincidiendo con esta fecha, las calles se llenan de libros y rosas. La tradición es regalar una rosa a la persona querida y que ésta corresponda con un libro. Pero la realidad es que se regalan rosas y libros a todo el mundo: amigos, familia, compañeros de oficina...)

Por este motivo, hoy podéis ver tres interesantes videos que tienen al libro, a la imprenta y al papel como protagonistas.

En todos los casos el amor por la artesanía, por el trabajo hecho a mano, queda patente. Sólo así se consiguen piezas únicas y especiales.

Espero que disfrutéis del día de hoy y que leáis muchos libros. ¡Feliz Día del Libro!

World Book Day is a celebration for the culture, the letters and the paper! Because although every day more e-books are sold, the paper will keep being a protagonist (in the same way which the television did not finished with the radio)
Besides, in the city of Barcelona, it's a special day. Sant Jordi is the patron of the city; and coinciding with this date, the streets fill up with books and roses. The tradition is to give a rose to the person dear and this one corresponds with a book. But the reality is that rosesand books are given  to everbody: friends, family, colleagues of office...)
For this reason, you can see today  three interesting videos that they have books, printing and paper as protagonists.
In all the cases the love for the crafts, the handwork, remains obvious. Only like this, special pieces are created.
I expect to enjoy the day of today and to read many books. Happy Day of the Book!

Collages - Dominique Lebrun

En 2010 hace su primer collage, usando su apreciada colección de revistas de película « Mon Ciné », de los años 20's,   que cuidadosamente guardaba durante casi 40 años. Emocionado por esta experiencia, decide continuar examinando este camino, convirtiéndose esta vez en su colección de carteles de película. Él es el periodista Dominique Lebrun.
In 2010 he does his first collage, using his loved collection of magazines of movies « Mon Ciné » from the 20's, which carefully put away for almost 40 years. Touched by this experience, he decides to continue examining this way, being converted this time in his collection of posters of movie. He is the journalist Dominique Lebrun

Guiado por colores, formas y movimientos, Dominique Lebrun  arranca, pega, superpone y reúne para recomponer escenas imaginarias, paisajes y retratos, a veces en el borde de la abstracción.  Es fantástico ver cómo no utiliza herramientas para cortar, simplemente rasga el papel. El sonido del papel rasgado es único.
Guided by colors, forms and movements,  Dominique Lebrun starts, sticks, superposes and brings, landscapes and portraits, together to recompose imaginary scenes sometimes in the edge of the abstraction. It's fantastic to see how he does not use tools to cut, simply tears the paper. The sound of the torn paper is unique.

Album "Rendez-vous à Paris"

¿Es posible condensar la esencia de una ciudad en un álbum de fotos? La respuesta es que no, no es posible. Es imposible trasladar todo lo que una cámara no puede recoger: aromas, luces y sombras, matices, texturas....
Is it possible to condense the essence of a city in a photograph album? The answer is no, is not possible. It is impossible to transfer all what a camera cannot capture: aromas, lights and shadows, details, textures....

Quizás por eso ha costado tanto condensar la esencia de París entre las páginas de un álbum. En un intento de hacerlo, hoy os muestro el resultado.
Perhaps because of that it has been difficult  to condense the essence of Paris between the pages of an album. In an attempt to make it, I today show you the result.

Las imágenes están impresas en blanco y negro, en formato cuadrado. Con ello quería hacer uniforme las fotos de diversos viajes, para ceder el protagonismo a los edificios, rincones y calles que más me gustan de esta ciudad.
Photographs are printed in black and white, in square format. With that, I wanted to do more uniform the photos of different trips, to yield the protagonism to the buildings, places and streets that I like from this city.

Los papeles siguen la misma gama cromática: grises, blancos y negros con diversos estampados y texturas. El hilo conductor, además de la temática, son los detalles en dorado que van de página en página (washi-tapes, sellos, embossing, pintura...)
The papers follow the same chromatic range: greys, whites and blacks with different prints and textures. The conducting theme, besides the subject, are the details in golden that go of page on page (washi-tape, stamps, embossing, painting...)

Las técnicas también son diversas. He querido experimentar y arriesgar más que en otras ocasiones. La clave está en usar menos las tijeras y menos los pinceles, rasgar más el papel, utilizar diversas herramientas para pintar, mezclar... Y dejarse llevar, pensando que el aprendizaje está en el propio proceso.
Techniques are also different. I wanted to experience and to risk more than on other occasions. The key is in using less  the scissors and the paintbrushes, tearing more the paper, to use different tools to paint, to mix... And thinking that the learning is in the process itself.

El resultado, lógicamente, es mejor en directo; pero para poder mostrarlo está disponible en el perfil de Issuu y en este post. Espero que os guste. ¿Nos vemos en París?

Álbum Natura | Album Natura

Es posible que ya lo conozcáis, pero debo reconocer que es uno de mis álbums favoritos de los que ha hecho Lola, de La Sonrisa Creativa.
It's possible that you already know it, but I have to recognize that it is one of my favorite álbums of which has done Lola, of La Sonrisa Creativa.

Se trata de un álbum confeccionado con la colección "Forever Green" de Prima Marketing Inc. Es una colección de papeles diferentes, basada en elementos naturales con una fondo negro que hace que resalten todos lo elementos.
It is an album made with the collection "Forever Green" of Prima Marketing Inc. It is a collection of different papers, based on natural elements with black base that does that they stand out all the elements.

En esta ocasión, además, Lola trabaja con una tendencia que cada vez se ve cada vez más en decoración: lo natural, la plantas, el verde. A mi personalmente me gusta mucho cuando se crea contraste entre los materiales y las texturas. En este álbum, la madera, el musgo y los papeles Forever Green crean una combinación perfecta.
On this occasion, besides, Lola works with one trend that every time is seen more in decoration: natural, plants, green. Personally,  I like so much whenthere is a contrast between the materials and the textures. In this album, the wood, the moss and the papers from Forever Green create a perfect combination.

Paisaje de papel en una caja | Paper landscape in a box

La idea de hoy une dos pasiones: el queso y el papel. Reciclando una caja de queso Camembert, podemos hacer un par de cuadros para decorar un pequeño rincón de la casa.
Los materiales son muy básicos: la caja del queso, papel, musgo verde y blanco y algunas ramas.
The idea of today joins two passions: the cheese and the paper. Recycling a box of cheese Camembert, we can make a couple of frames to decorate a small corner of home.
The materials are very basic: the box of the cheese, paper, green and white moss and some branches.

La clave está en la mezcla de materiales y en la superposición de capas. La mezcla de materiales es una gran idea para destacar las diferentes texturas del papel, la madera y el musgo.
Con la forma de la caja, se recortan las cartulinas con diferentes formas para crear los niveles que luego, una vez superpuestos, darán profundidad al cuadro.
Se van pegando ramas de diferente grosor, para crear efecto de profundidad; a la vez que se va añadiendo el musgo de forma irregular; como quedaría en la propia naturaleza.
Para pegarlo se puede utilizar la pistola de cola termofusible, muy práctica y útil; ya que seca rápido y fija bien los materiales.
The key is in the mixture of materials and in the superposition of layers. The mixture of materials is a great idea to highlight the different textures of the paper, the wood and the moss.
With the form of the box, the cardboards are cut with different forms to create the levels that afterwards, once superposed, will give depth to the frame.
Branches of different thickness keep sticking, to create depth effect; at the same time as the moss keeps being added irregularly; as it would remain in the nature itself.
In order to stick it, the very useful thermofusible pistol can be used; because dries rapid and fixes the materials well.

¡Y ya está listo! Cualquier espacio de la casa quedará decorado con estos sencillos cuadros reciclados.
And it's ready! Any space of the house will be decorated with these simple recycled frames.
